GSI is pleased to announce that Dusty Myrup recently joined the GSI Engineering Topeka office as a staff geologist. Dusty assists project geologists with report writing, collecting soil and groundwater samples, supervising drilling operations, and other various tasks needed to help get projects completed on time.
Dusty grew up in Wyoming where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and backpacking in the mountains. He graduated from Weber State University in Ogden, UT in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, which he followed with an internship with the Utah Geological Survey Hazard Mapping Department where he assisted in mapping active landslides and faults.
Dusty then worked a year and half with McKay Mineral Exploration as an exploration geologist, collecting groundwater and soil samples, staking mining claims, and supervising drilling operations for mining companies exploring for areas with mineral reserves large enough to mine.
Dusty accepted his position as staff field geologist with GSI in October 2018. He brings his hard work ethic, love of field work, attention to detail, and willingness to learn and grow in the company.
We are excited to have Dusty at GSI and look forward to watching him grow with our team in Topeka.
