GSI Engineering, LLC is pleased to announce the acquisition of Bluestem Environmental Engineering, Inc., an environmental engineering and consulting firm headquartered in Paola, Kansas. The acquisition was effective on April 2, 2018.
Bluestem Environmental Engineering, Inc. was established in 1995, by Connie and Nick Hart to provide environmental engineering services including remedial system design, installation and system maintenance along with other environmental consulting services. Over this time Bluestem has built an excellent reputation as a quality environmental engineering firm. With the acquisition of Bluestem we are pleased to announce the addition to our professional staff of Nick Hart, P.E., Sidney Edelbrock III, P.E. and Teresa Pfau. Nick is a Kansas and Nebraska licensed engineer with over 30 years of experience designing remedial systems. Nick will take over as the office manager in the Kansas City – Lenexa office. Sidney is a Kansas licensed engineer with over 20 years of experience including environmental remediation design, construction, maintenance and troubleshooting. Sidney will be GSI’s project design engineer stationed in the KC-Lenexa office. Teresa is an environmental technician that will support the KC operation.
GSI Engineering’s President, Charles Brewer believes the acquisition will grow GSI’s environmental branch by providing a wider array and depth of environmental services. “We can now offer complete full-service environmental consulting, from the early stages of investigation through remedial system design to achieve expedited site closure,” Brewer says. GSI also operates a fleet of drilling rigs and Geoprobe rigs to complement its environmental services.
Rick Bean, Director of Environmental Operations, indicates that GSI’s goal is to provide quality full-service environmental solutions to our clients including innovative solutions for site closure. Bean indicates, “This is a great combination, as GSI and Bluestem both have the tradition for excellent service, deep expertise, and an environment our clients and employees want to be a part of.”
